Subs

Junior Rugby Subs for 2017 will be $80 per player (includes playing jersey)Weigh in Dates.

All players need to register and pay online.

You still need to come down to the club to have your photo taken, present your ID (passport or birth certificate) and be weighed in (tackle only) for your registration to be completed on the following dates;

Saturday 4th March 1-4pm

Wednesday 8th March 5.30-7pm

Saturday 11th March 1-4pm

Rippa Rugby (U6 and U7)U6 Rippa teams (non contact) practice once a week and play on a Friday nights under lights or locally on a Saturday morning.

U7 Rippa teams (non contact) practice once a week and play in the Auckland competition on a Saturday morning playing games home and away. U7 teams will also have the opportunity throughout the season to play on a Friday night under lights.

Tackle Rugby Grades for 2017 are as follows;

Under 8 (YOB 2009) is tackle rugby 10 a-side on half-field with teams training once a week. Restricted weight grades are U31Kgs and U47Kgs. The U8 competition is Auckland wide with home and away games played on a Saturday morning. This grade is all about learning to play tackle rugby.

Half Field Rugby (For under 9 and under 10 year olds - YOB 2008 & 2007) is full tackle 10 a-side on half-field with teams training once a week. Restricted weight grades are U35kg, U40Kgs, U50Kgs and U60Kgs. The half field competition is Auckland wide requiring teams to play home and away games on Saturday mornings. This grade is where kids start to develop and enhance their rugby skills.

Full Field Rugby U11s-U13s is real big kids rugby; full tackle, 15 a-side and full field. All teams train at least once a week and play in an Auckland wide competition requiring teams to play home and away games on Saturday mornings.

Full Field weight restrictions are;

U11 (YOB 2006) U43Kgs and U65Kgs.

U12 (YOB 2005) U49Kgs and U74Kgs

U13 (YOB 2004) U55Kgs, U83Kgs and U100Kgs (if entries).

Friday Night Rugby

Games on a Friday night will be played under lights starting at 5:30pm. U6 Rippa will regularly play on a Friday night with all other teams given the opportunity, where possible, to have a game under lights during the season. The rugby club will be open from 5:30pm with food and refreshments available for all upstairs.

The St Paul’s 1st XV will be playing all their home games at Eden Rugby Club on a Friday night at 7:30pm so this provides a great opportunity for to watch the stars of tomorrow in action.

Playing Strip

All players must wear the club uniform at all times when playing. Jerseys are provided for all rugby teams at no cost. Shorts and socks can be purchased at the club at weigh-in.

Shorts (Kids size 4 -16) - $30

Shorts (XS - 2XL) - $40

Club Merchandise

Club merchandise will also be available to purchase at weigh-in including; hoodies, jackets, caps, training tees, umbrellas and mouthguards. Orders will also be able to placed for headgear and body armour.

Coaches must attend a Smallblacks Coaching Course to be registered. Dates of Smallblacks courses will be posted in due course.
